The tendering process takes 4-6 weeks. Project commencement relies on the contractor's commitments and the ordering time on materials. Many paving materials can take a minimum of 6 weeks before delivery and contractors require at least this much notice before they are able to attend the site. It is not unusual for the commencement of a project to be determined by the application and acquisition of engineering specifications or Council approval for such features as swimming pools. Pool construction can take up to 8 weeks. Landscape construction on an average suburban garden can take at least as long.
